Delma Banks Jr. is an American who was convicted of murder and sentenced to death in 1980. He spent 24 years on death row until his sentence was overturned in 2004. In 2012, he signed an agreement with the prosecution to have his sentence commuted to life imprisonment. This allows Banks the possibility of applying for parole in 2024, at the age of 65, after serving 44 years in prison.
