Della Martin Roy (November 3, 1926 – March 27, 2021) was a pioneering woman in science and an international leader in cement and concrete research. She held emeritus professor status in materials science and was a founding member of the Materials Research Laboratory at Penn State. Over her career, she contributed significantly to multiple fields including porous biomaterials and radioactive storage methods. Notably, she was the first female materials scientist elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 1987, authored over 400 publications, and played a crucial role in developing lower CO₂ emitting cement production methods.
