Dean Leo Parker (20 August 1947 – 14 April 2020) was a distinguished New Zealand screenwriter, playwright, journalist, and political commentator based in Auckland. He is best known for co-writing the screenplay for the iconic film 'Came a Hot Friday' alongside Ian Mune. Parker also contributed to the television film 'Old Scores' and the recent play 'Midnight in Moscow.' His significant contributions to the arts were recognized when he was awarded Laureate of the New Zealand Arts Foundation in 2010.
