Dean Mullaney, born on June 18, 1954, is a prominent American editor, publisher, and designer recognized for founding Eclipse Enterprises in 1977, one of the earliest independent comic-book companies. He was instrumental in publishing some of the first graphic novels and advocating for creators' rights. In the 2000s, Mullaney launched The Library of American Comics under IDW Publishing, specializing in hardcover comic strip collections. His contributions to the comic industry have been honored with seven Eisner Awards.
