Najafi, son of Salman Ali, lived as a refugee in Pakistan before returning to Afghanistan. He holds an MBBS degree from the University of Balochistan and an MA in Islamic Studies from the University of Peshawar. Najafi is fluent in multiple languages, including Dari-Persian, Urdu, Pashto, and English, and belongs to the Hazara ethnic group.
