Davy Steele was a Scottish folk musician and songwriter born on December 10, 1948. He was active in various bands, including Drinkers Drouth and Ceolbeg, and was a founding member of Clan Alba. In 1998, he became the lead vocalist and guitarist for the Battlefield Band. Besides guitar, he played the bouzouki and bodhrán. Steele was married to Patsy Seddon and had four children. He passed away on April 11, 2001, after a diagnosis of a brain tumor.
