David Arthur Watmough (1926–2017) was a Canadian playwright, short story writer, and novelist born in London, England. He attended King's College London and later worked as a reporter and editor. After immigrating to Canada in 1960, he settled in Vancouver and became a citizen in 1967. Watmough lived in various locations, including Boundary Bay and Crofton Manor. He published his autobiography, 'Myself Through Others: Memoirs,' in 2008. His partner was Floyd St. Clair, a professor and opera critic.
