David Volz is a retired American pole vaulter, born on May 2, 1962. He achieved notable accomplishments, finishing fifth at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and winning a bronze medal at the 1985 Summer Universiade. Volz was known for achieving 5.75 meters in 1982, sharing the top spot for that year. He is also recognized for developing a now illegal technique called 'Volzing'. Currently residing in Bloomington, Indiana, he serves as vice president of Cook, Inc. and has three sons, all of whom pole vaulted at their high school.
