David P. Valcourt is a retired Lieutenant General of the United States Army, born in 1951 in Chicopee, Massachusetts. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1973 and served in various officer ranks, culminating as the commander of the 8th Army from April 2006 to February 2008. Valcourt held key positions in operations and strategic planning at the Joint Chiefs of Staff and TRADOC. Post-retirement, he serves on the boards of various companies.
