He is a Professor at the University of East Anglia, where he served as Head of Chemical Sciences and Physics from 1996 to 1999. His research focuses on optical phenomena, quantum electrodynamics, and intermolecular energy transfer. Notable achievements include over four hundred publications and roles in international conference series. A Fellow of various scientific societies, he also engages in painting and poetry in his leisure time.
