David Harvey, born in 1935, is a British Marxist social theorist and geographer. He is a professor of anthropology at the CUNY Graduate Center and one of the world's leading geographers. Harvey's writings focus on social justice, the logic of capitalism in relation to the built environment, postmodernity, and a critique of capitalism, especially its neoliberal form. His work is significant for its emphasis on the Marxist concept of social class and its application to contemporary issues within society.
