David Fairweather Foxon was an English bibliographer known for his in-depth study of 18th-century English literature. He held the position of Reader in Textual Criticism at the University of Oxford from 1968 until 1982. His scholarly work significantly contributed to the field of bibliographical studies, particularly focused on books and literary texts of the 18th century. Foxon was also a Fellow of the British Academy (FBA). He was born on January 9, 1923, and passed away on June 5, 2001.
