Ekwee David Ethuro is a Kenyan politician born on December 31, 1963. He is currently the Chairperson of the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB). Ethuro was elected as the first Speaker of the modern Kenyan Senate on March 28, 2013. Before that, he served as a Member of Parliament for Turkana Central from 1998 to 2013 and held the position of Assistant Minister for Planning and National Development between 1998 and 2002 under President Daniel arap Moi's government. He played a significant role in the 10th Parliament when acting as Speaker.
