David Willoughby Myers was an American football player born in 1906. He is notable for being one of the few black players in professional American football before World War II. His contributions helped pave the way for future athletes in a sport that has evolved significantly over the years. Myers played during a challenging time for African American athletes in the United States, breaking barriers and making history in a predominantly white sport. He passed away on March 5, 1997.
