Kathleen Daphne Skillern (1927-2012) was a pioneering British police officer, notable for being the second woman to achieve the rank of commander in the London Metropolitan Police and the first to lead a branch at Scotland Yard outside the defunct Women Police unit. A veteran of the Criminal Investigation Department, she commanded significant departments during her career, including the Obscene Publications Squad. Skillern was awarded the Queen's Police Medal in 1979 before retiring in 1980.
