Daniel Kahneman (March 5, 1934 – March 27, 2024) was an Israeli psychologist renowned for his groundbreaking work at the intersection of economics and psychology. He rejected the notion of the rational economic agent acting for self-interest and introduced the complexities of human psychology into economic theory. Kahneman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 2002 for integrating psychological insights into economic science, particularly regarding human judgment and decision-making under uncertainty. He was married to American psychologist Anne Treisman.
