Daniel Andres is a Swiss composer and musician, born on March 6, 1937, in Biel/Bienne. He received his musical education at the Bern Conservatory, where he studied organ under Otto Schaerer and composition with Sándor Veress. He has held various positions, including conductor, vocal coach, and choir director at Biel's music theater from 1972 to 1979 and 1984 to 1989. From 1989, he worked as an organist and church musician in Biel and became a freelance composer in 2002. Additionally, Andres has written an autobiography and books about Biel's architectural history.
