Danica Melihar Lovrečič was the first female police officer in Slovenia and Yugoslavia, born on February 5, 1911, in Tržič. After completing high school, she studied at the Law Faculty, graduating in 1935. In 1936, she made history by becoming a police officer in the social section of the criminal department. She served until the end of World War II when she was imprisoned in May 1945 but later released. In 1988, she published an autobiography reflecting on her life and experiences during the war.
