He began his journalism career at age 15 in Welland and eventually became the senior news anchor at CHCH, where he was recognized for his charity efforts and community involvement. After nearly 40 years at CHCH, he shifted to radio at Mix 106.5 FM in Owen Sound, where he hosted morning shows and news segments before retiring in 2013. McLean enjoys outdoor activities and is married with three children.
