Dafydd Rowlands (December 25, 1931 – April 26, 2001) was a minister with the Independents, lecturer, poet, and writer. Born in Pontardawe, he was greatly influenced by his Welsh teacher Eic Davies at Pontardawe Grammar School. He graduated in Welsh from Swansea University and later prepared for ministry at the Presbyterian College, Carmarthen. After a period in ministry, he taught at Garw Grammar School and was appointed to the staff of Trinity College, Carmarthen in 1968, where he also began writing scripts for television. He served as archdruid from 1996 to 1999.
