Danister Thomas Fernando (February 9, 1909 – October 14, 2004) was a pioneer lyricist from Sri Lanka, known for his impactful work in the film industry. He began his career by writing lyrics for the 1947 film 'Asokamala' and went on to create numerous famous songs including 'Pem kekula pipi enavita mahade' and 'Jeewana gamana me sansare'. Despite his significant contributions to music, he became a relatively forgotten figure in the industry. His legacy includes a range of beloved melodies that reflect the culture and emotions of his time.
