Desigar Ramanujam (1907–1968) was a notable Ceylonese trade unionist and politician, initially from India. After starting a career in journalism, he contributed significantly to the Tamil newspaper Desa Bakthan and later became a teacher at Dharmaraja College. He founded the Bose Sangam to advocate for Indian workers' rights and played an important role in the Ceylon Indian Congress. Elected to the Kandy Municipal Council, he made history as the first Deputy Mayor of Kandy of recent Indian origin and was active in organizing trade unions internationally until his untimely death.
