D. R. Kaprekar (1905–1986) was an Indian teacher and mathematician known for his work in number theory, particularly on Kaprekar numbers, Harshad numbers, and Devlali numbers. He discovered the Kaprekar constant, which is named after him. Despite lacking formal postgraduate education, he became prominent in the field of recreational mathematics.
