Dennis Bernard Amos (1923–2003) was a notable American immunologist born in Britain. He was recognized by the National Academies Press as one of the most distinguished scientists of the twentieth century in the field of genetics of individuality. In 1969, he co-founded the first regional organ sharing program in the United States with Dr. David Hume. Amos made impactful contributions to immunogenetics, tumor immunity, and transplantation immunology.
