Cornelis Dirk 'Cor' Wals was a Dutch cyclist born on February 26, 1911, in The Hague. He excelled in six-day races, securing seven victories between 1932 and 1941. Notably, he partnered with Jan Pijnenburg in many of his wins. During World War II, Wals joined the Waffen-SS and served on the Eastern Front. After the war, he was imprisoned and subsequently released in 1952. His cycling achievements include multiple national championships and six-day race victories across several European cities.
