Coleman Jett Goin (1911-1986) was an American herpetologist known for his extensive work on amphibians. He pursued his education at the University of Pittsburgh and later at the University of Florida, where he obtained his B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. Goin made significant contributions to the field, publishing around 120 papers and co-authoring several influential books. He held various positions at the University of Florida and the Museum of Northern Arizona. Despite the challenges of polio, he excelled in fieldwork and was actively involved in professional societies, including the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists.
