He played for Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and was also associated with the Camberwell Football Club in 1934. Unfortunately, his career faced a setback when he broke his leg in the third round of the season against Sandringham. Despite the injury, he is remembered for his contributions to Australian football.
