Claes Thure Gustaf Bäckström was a Swedish draughtsman, illustrator, and author born on December 16, 1927, in Enköping and passed away on December 26, 2015, in Stockholm. He was the son of Brita Bäckström and Claes Bielke and grew up on Lidingö. In the 1950s, he studied at the Royal Institute of Art and worked as an illustrator, contributing to Svenska Dagbladet. Bäckström published two illustrated autobiographical books and held regular exhibitions, being represented in several collections.
