Christophe Lovis is a Swiss astrophysicist specializing in the detection and characterization of exoplanets, employing the radial velocity method. He graduated in 2002 from ETH Zurich and earned his Ph.D. in astrophysics in 2007 at the University of Geneva under Michel Mayor. Lovis is currently a professor in the Astronomy Department at the University of Geneva. Notable aspects of his research include discovering low-mass exoplanet systems and investigating stellar magnetic activity. He has co-discovered thirteen exoplanets, including several in the HD 10180 system.
