Christian Andree is a German medical and science historian and philologist, born on November 28, 1938, in Landsberg an der Warthe. He has published extensively on the history of statutory health insurance and the history of university clinics in Kiel. As a philologist, he edited works by Theodor Fontane and collected Fontane autographs. Since the 1990s, he has focused mainly on Rudolf Virchow and is the editor of the complete works of Virchow.
