Christer Solén was a Swedish opera singer born on February 16, 1939, in Gustafs, Sweden. He studied music from 1958 to 1967 and became a prominent Bach evangelist in West Germany. Throughout his career, he performed oratorios, modern Swedish church music, and was active in Scandinavia and Paris. He had several marriages and is the father of conductor Eric Solén and opera singer Leif Aruhn-Solén. Solén passed away on December 24, 2012, and is buried in Danderyd cemetery.
