Chris Evert, born Christine Marie Evert on December 21, 1954, is a former American tennis player who was ranked world number one. She won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, including a record seven French Open titles and a joint-record six US Open titles. Evert held the world number one ranking for 260 weeks and was year-end number one seven times from 1974 to 1981. Dominating women's tennis alongside Martina Navratilova during the 1970s and 1980s, she has a remarkable career singles win percentage and has also contributed as a coach and analyst post-retirement.
