He gained fame as a finalist on the fifth season of American Idol, finishing in fourth place. After leaving the show, he formed the band Daughtry, which released their self-titled album on November 21, 2006, selling over a million copies within five weeks. The album included multiple hit singles and achieved significant success on the Billboard Charts, remaining in the top 10 for over 28 weeks.
