He served as a member of the National Assembly in the 13th, 14th, and 15th terms. After passing the bar exam, he worked as a prosecutor and contributed to the drafting of the 5th republic constitution. He held various significant positions during the 5th republic, including political secretary to the president and Minister of Sports. After a political fallout in 1990, he faced legal issues but eventually retired from politics after losing the 2000 election.
