Cho Myŏng-ha (April 8, 1905 - October 10, 1928) was a notable figure associated with the independence movement during the period of Japanese rule in Korea. Initially planning a mass killing followed by his own suicide, he is referred to in Korea as an 'independence activist' despite having no prior activism records. He is known for the Taichung Desecration Incident and is recognized posthumously for his actions against Japanese oppression. His Japanese name was Akiwaka Tomio.
