Chiyoko Katō (1909-1986) was a Japanese haiku poet from Niigata Prefecture. Originally named Chiyose, she married fellow poet Kato Shuson in 1929 and started writing haiku in 1931. She contributed to literary magazines such as 'Wakatake' and 'Ashi Boku.' In 1940, she joined the editorial team of 'Kanrai.' In 1954, she co-founded the 'Women Haiku' magazine. Her notable collections include 'Winter Sprout', 'Cranes', and 'Dreams Lost.' Katō made a significant impact on the haiku community through her poetry and editorial work.
