Chetan Karki (November 7, 1938 - May 16, 2021) was a renowned Nepali lyricist and film director. He is noted for being the first screenwriter in Nepali cinema and has written stories for over a hundred Nepali films. Karki directed films such as 'Bishwas', 'Pahilo Prem', and 'Bhumri'. He is well-known for his songs in films like 'Maya Preeti', 'Kanchi', and 'Kanyadaan', with 'Tijako Rahara Aayo Barilai' being his most popular song. Besides film work, he published a collection of poetry, stories, and a novel.
