Chester 'Chet' Cruikshank was an American track and field athlete known for his achievements in hammer throw and discus. He was the national champion in the men's hammer throw in 1939 and 1942 and also a junior champion in 1935. Beyond athletics, Cruikshank served in World War II, where he attained the rank of lieutenant colonel and received the Distinguished Service Cross for his valor during the Battle of Anzio.
