Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao was an influential Indian communist leader and politician from Telangana. Born on August 31, 1923, he was active in the Quit India Movement and opposed Nizam's rule, during which he spent five years underground and in jail. He served six terms in the State Legislative Assembly from 1957 to 2004, representing his party in a transformative period for the region. A long-time member of the Communist Party of India, he later joined the Telugu Desam Party in 1999 and retired from politics in 2009. He passed away on May 9, 2016.
