Charles Stanard Severance is a convicted American serial killer who operated in Alexandria, Virginia, from 2003 to 2014. In 2016, he was found guilty of three murders, including the killings of Ruthanne Lodato, Ronald Kirby, and Nancy Dunning. His crimes were notable for their brazen execution in daylight, where he would knock on victims' doors before fatally shooting them. Severance's arrest followed a police sketch related to one of the murders, with prosecutors citing his hatred for the affluent community as a motive.
