Charles Lelong was a French archaeologist and historian, born on July 22, 1917, in Thiviers, Dordogne, and passed away on August 16, 2003, in La Roche sur Yon, Vendée. He was an agrégé professor of history and geography at the Lycée Descartes in Tours, later serving as an assistant master at the François Rabelais University in Tours. In addition to his teaching career, he conducted archaeological excavations, including significant religious edifices in Touraine.
