Charles William Jacob (1921–2015) was a British stockbroker known for pioneering ethical investment. Born into poverty in Hornsey, London, Jacob became a Methodist and worked his way up from an office boy to a stockbroker, specializing in gilt-edged and fixed-interest stocks. In 1972, he managed the Methodist Church's investment fund, deepening his commitment to ethical investing. He served as a director for several investment firms and was a patron of the UK Sustainable Investment & Finance Association. Jacob was also a Methodist preacher and received an MBE in 1988 and a CBE in 2011.
