Sir Robert Charles Evans was an English mountaineer, surgeon, and educator, born in Liverpool on October 19, 1918, and passed away on December 5, 1995. He led the successful British expedition to Kangchenjunga in 1955 and served as the deputy leader of the British expedition to Everest in 1953. Both expeditions are notable achievements in the history of mountaineering.
