Charles Olney Cornell (1911–1989) was an American Communist involved in the Trotskyist movement. Born in Cochise, Arizona, he became an active participant in the Socialist Workers Party during the 1930s. He worked as a bodyguard for Leon Trotsky in Mexico from 1939 to 1940. After Trotsky's assassination, Cornell returned to the United States, remained with the Socialist Workers Party briefly, and then left politics to work in real estate in Connecticut and Arizona. He passed away on January 1, 1989.
