Charles Barthel, born on January 3, 1960, is a Luxembourgish history professor and historian. He studied history at the University of Strasbourg and the University of Aix-Marseille, focusing primarily on European integration and the steel industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. He has worked as a history professor in secondary education and served as the director of the Robert Schuman Centre from 2001 to June 6, 2015. Since September 2015, he works at the National Archive and has been a member of the historical section of the Grand Ducal Institute since 2003.
