Chang Sik Kim was a South Korean-American Buddhist master born on January 8, 1944. He began his Buddhist journey at the age of thirteen under Seung Sahn Lee. After a life-changing meditation retreat, he became an enlightened master and introduced Shim Gum Do martial arts. In 1974, he moved to the U.S. and established several associations to promote Shim Gum Do. He wrote 22,000 Zen poems and published numerous books in multiple languages. He passed away on March 12, 2021, leaving a lasting impact on Buddhist practices and martial arts.
