Currently, he is the chief of the Sensing and Spatial Analysis branch at the U.S. EPA and an adjunct professor at Duke University. Giri has previously held senior positions at various renowned institutions. His work has led to the creation of the most comprehensive mangrove forest database in the world, emphasizing the assessment of land cover changes on both local and global scales.
