Chae-ik Kim (born November 26, 1938 – died October 9, 1983) was a prominent South Korean economist and the economic chief of the Blue House during the Chun Doo-hwan administration. He was instrumental in formulating key economic policies such as the financial real-name system, price stabilization, information policies, Korea's membership in the OECD, and import liberalization. His life was tragically cut short when he was killed in a terrorist attack at the Aung San Mausoleum in Myanmar.
