Celvin Galindo is a Guatemalan prosecutor born on December 24, 1957, in Guatemala City. He studied law at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala and worked as a lawyer for Feed The Children and at the Guatemalan Social Security Institute. He became a prosecutor in 1995, investigating the murder of Bishop Juan Gerardi in 1999, which led to threats against his life. After seeking asylum in Germany and Spain, he returned to Guatemala in 2004 as a special prosecutor for corruption. He is married and has three children.
