Philip McCutchen, known as The Cedar Creek Sheik, was an American hokum and blues singer and guitarist active in the 1930s. He recorded in Charlotte, North Carolina, producing ten tracks with Bluebird Records in 1936. His music often included bawdy humor and references to local situations. While some perceived him as potentially a white artist, census records identify him as 'negro'. McCutchen's vocal style featured a high, almost expressionless quality, sometimes incorporating yodeling. He passed away on October 7, 1964.
